M. K. Čiurlionis House-Museum

The Čiurlionis Family House, which became the M. K. Čiurlionis Memorial Museum in 1963, invites visitors to visit and get acquainted with the home of the parents of the most famous painter and composer of our nation. The exhibition consists of four buildings: the cash desk, the authentic Čiurlionis houses and the gallery. In the ticket office, you will not only be able to buy a museum ticket, reproductions, souvenirs or publications about art, but also get acquainted with the biography of M. K. Čiurlionis and his photographs. The two Čiurlionis’ houses exhibit most of the authentic items and instruments that belonged to the family. The Čiurlionis family harmonium, the timetable hanging above it, the piano given to Čiurlionis by Mykolas Oginski, the artist’s workroom, and the authentic piano the composer played in Warsaw during his studies are all eye-catchers. In the museum’s gallery, you will not only be able to see Čiurlionis’s works of art, but also hear his own musical compositions. In addition to Čiurlionis’ works, the gallery also hosts exhibitions by invited guests.

The Museum is surrounded by a beautiful patch of nature – an apple orchard decorated every year with multicoloured flowers, where you can meet various birds, hear their songs and feel a real connection with nature, just as Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis did.

Attention: M. K. Čiurlionis House-Museum is currently closed for reconstruction. It is planned that the renovated museum will open its doors to visitors and invite you to the updated exhibitions in a few years. For now, we invite you to visit the V. K. Jonynas Gallery, where M. K. Čiurlionis House-Museum education and exhibitions are held.
