After two places where you can taste mineral water, you reach a beauty spring, whose water is extremely salty and not recommended for drinking. The Beauty Spring is the saltiest and deepest spring in Druskininkai, with skin-cleansing and rejuvenating properties. The spring, which flows from a stone bas-relief next to the Nemunas River, is more than 300 metres deep. The water of the spring can be used to wash your face, hands and throat. It is believed to rejuvenate the skin, giving it beauty and invigoration. Legend has it that in ancient times, a prince hunting with his courtiers accidentally stumbled upon this place. The hunting was successful, so the Prince had to shoot a falcon. The falcon, pierced by the archer’s arrow, fell into the Nemunas, and the Duke rushed into the water to retrieve it. The Duchess wept very pitifully on the shore and ran along the riverbank, shedding salty tears and calling for her husband. Some time later, with a falcon in his hand, the prince emerged from the water, safe and sound. Legend has it that where the princess’s tears fell, salty springs gushed out of the ground.
