A commemorative chair for Antanas Dambrauskas

Vytauto Street in Druskininkai has been adorned with a work of professional art – Prof. Alfonsas Vaura, a sculptor at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, has created a bronze chair in memory of Antanas Dambrauskas, a translator of classical works, based on an authentic artefact which can be seen at the Druskininkai Museum of Resistance and Exile. Come and see this chair, modelled on the surviving chair made by the translator Antanas Dambrauskas himself, on which he used to sit whilst translating.
