The sculpture ‘The Gates of Hospitality’
The sculpture ‘The Gates of Hospitality’, created by the renowned sculptor Tadas Gutauskas, was erected in 2013 to mark the 25th anniversary of Sąjūdis. The motif chosen for the sculpture is a Lithuanian horseshoe, symbolising happiness, success and protection of the home from evil. The horseshoe incorporates symbols of happiness and success from 16 neighbouring nations. On each side of the sculpture are symbols of good fortune from the eight countries from which Druskininkai receives the most tourists.
