A memorial bench for Žakas Lipšicas
“I am proud to have been born in the village whose soil his feet once trod. Our beloved, unforgettable Druskininkai!”, – so wrote another, no less famous and well-known resident of Druskininkai, Jacques Lipchitz, in 1972, two years before his death, when asked about M. K. Čiurlionis. a sculptor of Lithuanian Jewish origin and a prominent representative of Cubism, who lived and worked in France, the USA, Israel and Italy. A bench created by the sculptor R. Inčirauskas in his memory was unveiled on Monday outside the Ž. Lipšicas Jewish Museum.
