Druskininkai is surrounded by many lakes, where you can catch a variety of fish: pike, tench and even carp. One of the most fishy lakes is Lake Ilgios, which belongs to the public fishing club “Karpis”. Thanks to the club, since 2008, Ilgi has been granted the status of a licensed fishery for the organisation of amateur fishing with tools and techniques. The lakes Aviris and Latežeris near Druskininkai are also suitable for fishing, and if you walk along the shores of Lake Nemunas or Lake Druskonis, you will also see fishermen catching fish of various species and sizes. To enjoy the pleasures of fishing in summer or winter, all you have to do is buy a fishing licence at any “Perlo” terminal shop. If you are a real fishing enthusiast and you are staying in Druskininkai for more than one night, you can buy a multi-purpose permit.
