The sculpture ‘Lithuania – A Legend’

The sculpture ‘Lithuania – A Legend’

At the confluence of the Ratnyčėlė and Nemunas rivers, an impressive 7-metre-high, 10-tonne sculpture entitled ‘Lithuania – Legend’, created by the sculptor E. Bronzini, has been erected. The sculpture was cast more than 30 years ago and, after a long journey, has finally found a home in the heart of the resort. The four female faces incorporated into the sculpture represent the four regions of Lithuania. Four arms raised high hold a huge crown – a circle in which one can make out both a cross and the sun. It is like a statue of Lithuanian freedom – stable, serene and majestic.
