In Druskininkai, you’ll find over 60 km of cycle paths – ranging from short family-friendly routes to longer rides through the pine forests and the resort’s surrounding countryside. Most routes start in the town or are easily accessible from the centre of Druskininkai. Choose a route based on its length, surface and difficulty level, and make use of the interactive map or the PDF map during your trip.

The Neman Trail | 4 km

⇒ Park Bridge – UNO amusement park – spring – Love Island – First World War soldiers’ graves – airport – ‘Star Orbit’ path.

The trail winds its way from the end of Maironio Street (Park Bridge) southwards until it joins the ‘Star Orbit ’ trail. The route begins at the UNO amusement park and leads through pine forests along the banks of the Nemunas River to a small hill offering one of the most beautiful views of the town – a panorama of the Island of Love. After a few more minutes, the path approaches the former Druskininkai airport, where the International Dog Show is traditionally held in the first week of August. 200 metres beyond the airport grounds, the trail joins the ‘Star Orbit’ cycle route. Here, you can choose which way to continue your journey. The path to the left, after 2.7 kilometres, leads back to Druskininkai. The path to the right allows you to continue your journey to the village of Švendubrė and the Raigardo Valley.

⇒ Lake Druskonis – Lake Mergelės Akelių – Recreation areas on the banks of the Nemunas – Devil’s Stone – Švendubrė village – Raigardo Valley – Druskininkai Jewish Community Cemetery – Old Town Cemetery.

Starting your trip from Lake Druskonis, head towards Vijūnėlė Lake. From the metal sculpture ‘The Blacksmith’, situated between Lakes Vijūnėlė and Druskonis, the cycle path enters a pine forest and continues to wind through hilly terrain towards the Nemunas river. The most famous spot on this route is the Devil’s Stone – the tenth-largest boulder in Lithuania and a geological natural monument. Near the boulder, on the northern edge of the Raigardo Valley, lies the old, traditional linear village of Švendubrė with its ethnographic farmsteads. Upon reaching the crossroads in the village, you can turn back towards the town or continue your journey southwards to the Raigard Valley. Raigard Valley is well known and dear to the people of Druskininkai, as it served as a source of inspiration for M. K. Čiurlionis (the triptych ‘Raigard’) and V. Krėvė (‘Evening Song’). On the way back to Druskininkai, it is worth stopping at the historic cemetery. Many prominent residents of Druskininkai are buried here: K. Wolfgang, K. Dineika, J. Pileckis and others. Take the cycle path along the shore of Lake Druskonis to return to Druskininkai.

The Żilvino Trail | 6 km, 8 km, 12 km

⇒ Confluence of the Ratnyčia and Nemunas rivers (continuing across the ‘curved’ bridge) – Žakas Lipšicas Sculpture Park – ‘Saulutė’ sanatorium – ‘Eglė’ sanatorium and pond – Neravų Forest – Lake Ilgis – Grūto Park

The route begins at the confluence of the Ratnyčia and Nemunas rivers and runs along a forest path past the ‘Saulutė’ children’s rehabilitation sanatorium and the ‘Dangaus skliautas’ café to the ‘Eglė’ sanatorium. At the “Eglė” sanatorium’s drinking hall, it is well worth trying the “Eglė” mineral water, and then heading east towards “Grūto Park”, admiring Alkos Pond and the Grūta stream. On the shores of Lake Grūto, it is worth visiting the famous exhibition of Soviet sculptures and memorabilia, the zoo and a café serving ‘Soviet-style’ dishes.
