In short, the air here is healing too! Dive into new journeys and discoveries by bike around the resort – Druskininkai’s renewed cycle paths and nature haven are waiting for you.

Druskininkai has more than 60 km of cycling paths to enjoy the beautiful nature of the resort and visit its most popular attractions. Druskininkai’s cycle paths go beyond the city. For those who want to continue their journey around the resort, here are four main cycling routes.

The Nemunas Trail
Length: 4.29 km, with the possibility of extending to 24 km. Duration: approx. 1 hour.
⇒ Park Bridge – UNO Adventure Park – Spring – Love Island – Graves of World War I soldiers – Aerodrome – Star Orbit Trail.
The trail was created in 2014 on the site of a popular walking path and winds from the end of Maironio Street (Parko Most) southwards to join up with the Star Orbit trail. The trail starts at the UNO Adventure Park and leads through pine forests along the Nemunas River to a small rise with one of the most beautiful views in the city – the panorama of Love Island. A few minutes later, the trail approaches the former Druskininkai airfield, where the International Dog Show is traditionally held in the first week of August.200 metres beyond the airfield, the trail connects with the Žvaigždžių orbitos cycle route. Here you can choose your onward route. A left turn after 2.7 kilometres leads back to Druskininkai. The road to the right allows you to continue to the village of Švendubře and the Raigard valley.
The orbit of stars
Route length: 9 km, 12 km, 24 km. Duration: 2-4 hours, 6 hours.
⇒ Druskonys Lake – Lake Mergelis Akelių – Nemunas coastal recreation areas – Devil’s Stone – Švendubře village – Raigardas valley – Druskininkai Jewish Community Cemetery – Old Town Cemetery.
Starting from Druskonys Lake, head towards Vijūnėlė Pond. From the metal sculpture of the “Blacksmith”, located between Vijūnėlė and Druskonys lakes, the cycle path dives into a pine forest and continues winding along the hilly terrain towards the Nemunas. The most famous place along the route is the Devil’s Stone, the tenth largest boulder in Lithuania and a geological natural monument. Next to the stone, on the northern edge of the Raigard valley, is the old street village of Švendubrė with its ethnographic farmhouses. Once you reach the village crossroads, you can return to the town or continue south to the Raigard Valley. Raigard is famous and dear to Druskininkai because it inspired M.K.Čiurlionis (“Raigard” triptych) and V.Krėve (“Evening Hymn”).  Many famous citizens of Druskininkai are buried here. K. Wolfgang, K. Dineika, J. Pileckis and others. The Druskonis Lake shore cycle path is a way to return to Druskininkai.

⇒ Confluence of the rivers Ratnyčia and Nemunas (further on over the “curved” bridge) – Žakas Lipšics Sculpture Park – “Saulutė” sanatorium – “Eglė” sanatorium and pond – Neravai Forest – Ilgios Lake – Grūtas Park – A. Česnulis Sculpture and Recreation Park – Ratnyčia – “Girios echoes” forest museum – Druskininkai.

Taste the Eglė mineral water in the sanatorium’s office and continue east towards Grūtas Park, admiring the Alka Pond and the Grūta River. On the shores of Grūtas Lake, visit the famous exhibition of Soviet sculptures and relics, the zoo and the “Soviet” café. On your way back to Druskininkai along the Kaunas highway, visit the parish church of St. Apostle Bartholomew in Ratnytsia. The first church here was built by Kazimieras Leonas Sapiega around 1650. The new stone church, completed in 1910, is in an undeveloped pseudo-Gothic style. Nearby, just a few kilometres away, you can visit the A. Česnulis Sculpture and Recreation Park in Naujasode. The yellow loop trail is designed for Nordic walking and leads 9 km back to the town along the banks of the Alka pond and forest paths.
